All Hindus should unite against unjust ban imposed by Govt. ! – Sanjay Joshi

Press conference held at Chiplun to condemn ban on HJS website

HJS to stage demonstrations on 3rd September at Ratnagiri to protest against the ban

Ratnagiri (Maharashtra) : On 19th August, the eve of Ramzan Eid, Central Government blocked the website of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) ‘ ’, in unjust manner, without giving any prior notice as also the web-page of its social website on ‘Facebook’. It was understood from the news published in various media that under the name of publishing provoking writing on Assam riots, the above action was taken. It is an attack on the freedom of expression of the media and against the Indian Constitution to directly impose such ban without any notice. HJS will stage agitations on 3rd September between 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. at Ratnagiri against the said ban. Mr. Sanjay Joshi, the District Coordinator made an appeal to all Hindus to come together against this unjust ban. He was speaking in a press conference held at Swatantryaveer Savarkar hall of ‘Kane Brothers’. Mr. Suresh Shinde, Santosh Ghorpade of HJS and Mr. Vinayak Kangane of Sanatan Sanstha were present on the occasion.

Mr. Joshi said further, “No ban has been imposed by the rulers on the websites of fanatic, anti-national organisations like ‘Popular Front of India’, ‘Jamat-e- Islami Hind’, Raza Aacdemy, ‘Tehriq-e- Hurriyat Jammu-Kashmir’, ‘2’ etc. In fact, news published on the website and facebook page about Assam and Mumbai riots was true and taken from different newspapers; some of which are published at national level. In short, the news published in media is not objectionable; but when the same news was posted on the website, it was considered as objectionable. It is ‘Tughalaqui’ justice of the Government. If the Government found some news objectionable, they coluld have at least informed the website by sending a letter and the matter could have been sorted out through mutual understanding; but giving no chance to justify our stance, directly imposing ban is an attack on the freedom of expression of individuals and media.”

It is unfortunate that Govt. bans helpful website

Mr. Joshi said, “The website of HJS is helping the Government in a way. Scientific information about festivals, religious festivals, rituals to be performed etc. is given on the website; besides, various campaigns like prevention of abuse of National Flag, distortion of Indian map, denigration of Deities and national heroes, Saints etc. are undertaken; glorifying history of the country is presented to enlighten people and similar things in the interest of people, Nation and Dharma are reached to the society. The website is working for prevention of false propagation by foreign agents about Assam riots and for prevention of harm that can be caused to national integrity and law and order in the country. In fact, it was a kind of help extended by HJS to the Government and Police. The activities of HJS have been praised by many political leaders, Police officers, social workers, thinkers, religious leaders etc. About 1, 80,000 people from 170 countries regularly visit the website and they have also commended activities of HJS undertaken through the website. No offence has been registered against the website so far for any illegal activity. Moreover, the number of readers of the website has been growing; therefore, we demand for immediate lifting of the ban on such patriotic and nationalistic website.
