Seminar by HJS on 'Stop the injustice meted out to media and attacks on media'

Appeal to journalist, only united action for national
cause will arrest injustice and attacks on freedom of speech

Panvel (Maharashtra) : The religious fanatical forces of Raza Academy attacked media and journalist on 11th August in Mumbai. Presently such a trend is observed in respect of whistle blower journalists exposing scams by ruling parties. On the other hand the Government bans, www.hindujagruti.org, websites of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti by letting the rioters go scot free. The conclusion arrived at the seminar organized in the Ashram of Sanatan Sanstha at Panvel was that, only united action by journalists for national cause will stop injustice and attacks on freedom of speech. This seminar was attended by Mr. Durgesh Parilkar of Hindu Mahasabha, Senior jurist and advocate Mr. Subhash Jha, Advocate Mr. Sanjiv Punalekar of National Hindu Lawyers Conference, Mr. P. Devmutthu, Editor Hindu Voice, Mr. Ramesh Shinde, Spokesman of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti for Maharashtra and Gujarat States, and Mr. Abhay Vartak Spokesman of Sanatan Sanstha.

Mr. Parulekar stated that the riots in Assam are handiwork of minorities and is a preplanned conspiracy to create another part of East Pakistan in North-east region of Bharat. The administration has already made the government aware of these facts in 1996 itself. But government has taken no action on this report. I fail to understand how this nation can ensure freedom of this nation without sealing its borders.

Mr. Abhay Vartak opined that the Government was so far harassing only Sanatan Sanstha, but now the attacks have been started on journalists also. To counter this aggression the journalists have to fearlessly aver that they will put forth only such viewpoint which is in interest of the nation. Only journalist can cause revolution in thinking of nation. Therefore, they must take leading role in enlightening the society with the facts fearlessly.

Mr. P. Deivmutthu expressed the riots which took place in Assam and in Mumbai is a step towards Islamisation of Bharat. In such a situation journalists should stop their efforts to be in good books of rulers and destroy the conspiracy of Islamisation.

Adv. Sanjiv Punalekar stated that judiciary has its own limitations while passing judgments related to journalists. Hence there is need for public agitation to oppose the injustice meted out to Hindutva forces.

Mr. Subhash Jha expressed that it is beyond comprehension that the judges who have admitted petitions against Mr. Narendra Modi have been awarded with plum posting.  Hindus should have their separate TV channel. The present situation in the nation has become handicapped and hence badly needs change.

Shri Ramesh Shinde opined that how we can claim that there is a freedom of press when journalists are being attacked just to ensure that news items be published. Why police fail to to establish the involvement of Pakistan in transmission of SMS during riots? Is it not a injustice to overlook the complaints lodged with police with sufficient evidence about the physical attacks on Sanatan Ashram and filing of chapter case H.H. Dr. Jayant Athavale, Our website was banned because we were publishing that nearly 4 lakhs of Hindus have become refugees.  We are planning to launch a separate TV channel to safeguard the interests of Hindus.

Journalists Mr. Dinanath Tiwari, Mr. Mangesh Phatale, Mr, Sanket Satope and Sudhanshu Joshi of Daily Sanatan Prabhat narrated their experiences during Mumbai riots.  Pujya Rajendra Shinde of Sanatan Sanstha, Mr. Anil More of Bajrang Dal, Mr. P.P.M.Nayar of Keral Regional committee, office-bearers of Social Welfare Association Mr. Sanjaykumar Chowdhari, Prof. Y.M.Choudhari. and many journalist of newspapers and TV channels were those among present.
