SP bans use of DJs due to the opposition by HJS and proud Hindus

Kodagu (Coorg) :  Following the protest lodged with the Superintendent of Police of Coorg by Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, other pro-Hindu organisations, and  proud Hindus, against many undesirable activities taking place during Ganeshotsav, the SP promised that he would ban these incidents and take necessary action against the culprits.

Mr. Manjunath Annigri, S.P. of Coorg District, in a press statement declared that police would take strict action against the use of loud-speakers having capacity of more than 10,000 watts and forcible collection of donations. Police also banned the use of loud-speakers from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Consumption of alcoholic drinks during immersion is also prohobhited.

Earlier, Hindu Janjagruti Samiti and other pro-Hindu organisations came together to submit a memorandum to District Collector, SP, and concerned Police stations to stop the use of Disk jockies and ban the malpractices during Ganeshotasav, and requested SP to isuue press note to this effect.

A press conference was arranged by Hindu Janjagruti Samiti to enlighten the general public as to how to celebrate Ganeshotsav festival ideally. The minutes of this press meet were also broadcast on Akashavani.
